Installation Method for ICS3-80-100-150A Series Manual Pressure Regulating Valves

Refrigerant

Technical Data

The ICS servo main valve can be applied to suction lines, liquid supply lines, hot gas lines, and gas-liquid mixed pipelines in refrigeration systems. The ICS is controlled by various pilot valves installed on it, providing control signals to achieve on/off control or continuous regulation of the working fluid.

Regulation Range

Depends on the selected valve type and the combination of pilot valves.

Opening Pressure Difference (p)

The ICS servo main valve requires a minimum opening pressure difference of 0.07 bar g (1 psi g) to open the valve, and a pressure difference of 0.2 bar g (3 psi g) is needed for full opening. When installing the ICS servo main valve, ensure the valve stem is vertically upward (Figure 1). The ICS servo main valve must be installed according to the flow direction indicated by the arrow on the valve body. The valve end cover should face upward (Figure 2). The end cover can be rotated in four 90° directions on the valve body without affecting the valve's function. The ICS servo main valve is equipped with a manual operating lever for manual control of the valve's opening and closing. The manual operating lever can open the ICS 100-150 valve under a pressure difference of 10 bar g (154 psi g). If an external pilot valve is used, it should be connected to the upper part of the main pipeline to prevent dirt and oil from entering the pilot valve line. If the ICS is used as a solenoid valve on the liquid supply line for on/off control, external control pressure should not be introduced to avoid liquid hammer. The design of the ICS servo main valve can withstand high internal pressure. Nevertheless, the pipeline system design must avoid liquid traps to prevent damage from excessive pressure due to thermal expansion. The pipeline design should consider effective protection against transient "liquid hammer" phenomena in the system.

Welding (Figures 3, 4, and 5)

The entire valve can be welded if the welding method is correct and it is ensured that no welding slag enters the valve. An M10 bolt or the lifting lug on the top cover (Figure 4, position 7) can be used to remove the functional module. If the bolt hole is clogged with foreign matter, it must be cleaned. The internal surfaces and welding points of the ICS or ICM valve body are treated with an anti-corrosion process. To maintain the effectiveness of the anti-corrosion treatment, ensure the valve body is removed before welding or brazing. If the functional module is to be stored for a period after disassembly, ensure it is placed in a polyethylene bag or treated with anti-rust measures (such as refrigeration oil or anti-rust oil) on its surface. During the welding process, ensure the solder and welding method are suitable for the valve body material, selecting the appropriate solder and correct welding method. After welding, the valve body must be thoroughly cleaned to ensure all welding slag is removed before installation. To prevent welding slag and dirt from entering the valve body and functional module.
